Changes in the Shop

We’ve been making some changes in the shop lately.  Some subtle, like adding new items in the freezer and snack sections; and other more obvious changes like moving the shelves around to make the store easier to shop.  Stop by and let us know what you think.

November 2 Farmers’ Market

Don’t forget, we will be at the November 2nd Tower Grove Farmers’ Market from 8am to 12pm.
We will have lots of seasonal scents available as well as some of our best selling favorites.
Be sure to look for Pumpkin Pie Spice, Pumpkin Souffle and Spiced Cranberry. If you are going to be at the market and want to make sure that we will have a specific scent on hand, Email Us and we will do our best to accommodate. We look forward to seeing you there.

Fall Scents, New Things in the Kitchen and The Post-Dispatch

As the weather cools the apple, spice and bakery scents become more popular. We have a nice selection of fall candles specifically for this season.
Some new items to look for are : Apples & Cinnamon, Apple & Oak, Apple Pie,
Harvest Berry, Harvest Spice, Indian Summer, Orange Clove, and my personal favorite, Amish Harvest.

We also have some other scents for you to try and we would appreciate your feedback. Look for Oud Wood, Oak Moss, Water Moss, Cedar & Vanilla, Driftwood, Fig Tree and Log Cabin. These scents are good for year round burning.

We are trying something new! We are experimenting in our kitchens with soy wax tarts! Tarts are for use in tart burners, which is great for people who do not like to burn open flame candles. They are typically about 1.5 oz of heavily scented wax that can fragrance a room through several burns. We are playing with shapes and molds and until we figure out what we like best, we have them available in the ‘shot tart’ style. These are small plastic containers with lids that store easily and hold their fragrance until they are ready for use.

Oh, and we were featured in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Lifestyle’s section.

New Items in the Store

We added a couple of the Raaw Juices to the cooler today. Look for Very Berry Wheatgrass and Cranberry Ginger 100% pure fruit juice and vegetable blends. Raaw also offers other flavors so let us know what additional flavors you’d like to see us carry.

Just in time for summer we’ve brought back Hint Waters. They are a refreshing no calorie, no sugar or artificial sweetener added alternative to plain water. We have Cucumber, Blackberry, Watermelon and Raspberry Lime. Look for them in the cooler.

In the front of the store you will find Erin Baker’s Original Breakfast Cookies. These cookies are something you can feel good about eating. Baked fresh with heart-healthy whole grains and sweetened with fruit puree, our cookies combine the flavors we all love with a heartiness that satisfies for hours. Packed with protein, antioxidants, fiber and complex carbohydrates, it is a healthy and delicious way to start your day. They go great with the cup of coffee you came into shop for. Look for Oatmeal Raisin, Peanut Butter and Double Chocolate Chunk.

We’ve also starting including an alternating selection of cakes, brownie and bars in the cooler. This week we have Raspberry Lemon Bars, Lemon Sunshine Cake and Chocolate Cheesecake. They make a great afternoon snack or after dinner desert. Do you have a favorite cake? Let us know and we’ll get it in for you.

One last thing to look for while you are in the store. Excel Bottling Sodas. We’ve had them in the cooler for a couple of months now and people are starting to take notice. Excel Bottling, from Breese, IL, offers a full line of pure cane sugar sodas. Our best seller is definitely the Ski with the Black Cherry coming in a close second. You can also find Million Dollar Grape, Lucky Club Cane Cola, Rummy and Ginger Ale.

First Time Selling Candles at the Farmers’ Market

We had a great time selling our candles at the Tower Grove Farmers’ Market this past Saturday. I sold half of the inventory I took and met a lot of great people. Our best sellers were Lavender & Sage, Nag Champa and French Market.

It’s always a learning experience at these events. On this day I learned that your best customers are also your best sales people and it’s humbling when they show up to help you out. A big thanks to Lan Sasa, Terese Lutz, John Dalton and Stephanie Howlett for showing up and stepping up. I wouldn’t not have had such a great sales day with out them.

Saturday, May 18th at the Tower Grove Farmers' Market. Friends make great salespeople.
